• The Orthteam website had 10.640 hits last month

• As from the end of July, Phil Turner and Matt Ravenscroft will join other members of Orthteam in using Bluespier to manage patient notes and information.  This is another step on the way to full electronic notes

• Phil Turner has been selected to be an examiner assessor for the Intercollegiate Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedics

• Mike Hayton has been accepted to be  an FRCS (Orth) examiner

• Phil Turner has led a successful bid to establish a training scheme for doctors to become Consultants in Sports and Exercise Medicine in the North Western Deanery.  The first post should be advertised in the next two months.  A grant of £100,000 per year has been granted by the Department of Health for the project

• Adam Hoad-Reddick was invited faculty on the first Hip Arthroscopy Course held at Wrightington in June

• All the Orthteam members have Honorary Appointments with Salford University and are part of the development of Postgraduate degrees for Orthopaedics.  For further details log on to: http://www.healthcare.salford.ac.uk/postgraduate/orthopaedic.php

• Len Funk, Phil Turner, Tim Clough and Mike Hayton have been asked to talk on 'Orthopaedics and Sport Injuries' at the Institute of Physics, London on the 17^th & 18^th November 2008

• EDUCATIONAL MEETING - Tuesday 24^th June 2008, The Alexandra Hospital.  This meeting was a huge success but oversubscribed.  Due to the feedback received we are planning a further meeting in early September.
